RISE has been shortlisted in the 2019 Economic Development Australia Awards for Excellence from a record field of entries.
RISE is a finalist in the Community Collaboration in Economic Development award category, which recognises community engagement and participation, extensive cross-community collaboration and community building efforts.
This is the second time the strength of the RISE collaboration has been acknowledged, with the program named as a 2019 Victorian Training Awards finalist for Industry Collaboration earlier in the year.
The nomination acknowledges the successes and achievements of the RISE stakeholder group, including City of Greater Geelong, funding partner Gforce Community Fund, The Gordon, Master Builders Victoria, Urban Development Institute of Australia, Geelong Region Local Learning and Employment Network, Northern Futures, Whittington Works, Hamlan Homes, Dennis Family Homes and Lyons Construction.
Economic Development Australia is the national peak body for economic development professionals. Its prestigious national awards program recognises Australia’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing campaigns, and the year’s most influential leaders.
RISE will be showcased in a special edition of the Economic Development Australia Journal as an example of outstanding achievement, and award winners will be announced on Thursday 24 October.
Jacqueline Brinkman, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Development Australia:
